Danielle Emily (Author)

Danielle Emily is a poetess, artist, and Miami native with a distinct voice that blends faith, personal growth, and emotional healing. Known for her honest, reflective writing, Danielle’s work resonates with readers who seek inspiration through vulnerability and spirituality.

Danielle’s poetry reflects her experiences as a Deliberate Overcomer and Empathic Educator, expressing life’s struggles with clarity and grace. Her modern poetic style—compared by co-author Emile Ignatius to Emily Dickinson’s depth and emotional intensity—offers a glimpse into the complexities of mental health, faith, and personal growth.

Drawing from both Catholic traditions and Messianic Christianity, Danielle finds meaning in seasons of spiritual reflection. Inspired by the wilderness fast of Yahushua (Matthew 4), she writes with purpose, seeking identity through selflessness and faith. Her work celebrates icons such as Mary Magdalene, Santa Sara, and Esther, who reflect her own journey of transformation.

As a descendant of Panama’s literary lineage—her great grandmother’s cousins, Maria-Denis de Ycaza and Ricardo Miró, were among the country’s most esteemed poets—Danielle carries on the tradition of using poetry as a connection for truth and generational healing.

Her debut collection, "Songbird: My Psalms," is both an artistic expression and a spiritual journey, praising the Holy Family while addressing personal struggles. With this first book, Danielle invites readers to find comfort, resilience, and renewal through poetry.

Commentary from Danielle Emily:

My personal thoughts on the collection…—

In a way, turning to Almighty God as a neurodivergent person is a sort of unorthodox modern monasticism.

Monachopsis is constant and does not care to slow down within the pace we live in, especially here in Miami. Yikes! 😬

  • This is why I wanted to make sure whoever reads my book knows that it’s okay to grapple human suffering, actively and examine it … Feeling exulansis? Please sit in a cozy corner with cafecito or wine and delight in this carefully curated book! It will especially help support you through CPTSD-induced DPDR and other often ignored feelings that are almost always reduced to the obscure and incomprehensible.

This world we live in is pure Anecdoche.

This book is a rare moment where it is not, beloved. Here, sensitivity is embraced as strength through the fire. You kept your righteous light/spark through it all?

Yes!!!!! 🙌🏼 Felicidades.

We are not Buddhists here. Your feelings do matter; they are not worth nothing even though they are fleeting and futile. Simultaneously, we do want to hold you through that futile suffering.
